Bentley Cadasatre: differences with Bentley Map and Power Map

Starting with Microstation Geographics in 2004, the project known as XFM was launched, which within the same dgn V8 format included XML capabilities. After version 8.9 known as XM Bentley Discontinue Geographics and launches Bentley Map, a different smoke management data, but with the same Operation logic.

Now it is indisputable the migration, For this I make the difference between the three programs available within the line, emphasizing in this case in Register, An interesting alternative for land management.

Bentley Map: It is a full version, which costs less than $ 1,500 with the requirement that to use it "as such" requires a Microstation license (more than $ 4,000). It is ideal for those who have Microstation licenses and all they are doing is implementing the geospatial area or those who are leaving a project with the Geographics scheme.Bentley sign

It is not the objective of this post to see what Bentley Map does, which among other things can generate PDF 3D and even supports 3D printers, we will see it another day; Here you can see more of Bentley Map

Bentley HotelsBentley signIt is an adaptation of Bentley Map, with its own functionalities for parcel use, some taken from Geopak Survey and new topology routines implemented from XM. More or less (Less than more) the tools offered by ESRI in the Survey Analyst extension, (Survey Editor, Cadastral Editor) and Cadastral Fabric. It costs less than $ 2,000 but just like Bentley Map, you need a Microstation license.

Among the routines you have, and that do not come with Bentley Map are:

COGO Edition Data Creation
- Close figure
-Cogo Digitizer
-Intect line with course
-Intect curve
-Insert line with deflection
-Insert arc on tangent
-Intect tangent
- Charge for points
-Charging by topologies
-Divisor of polygons
-Delta XY
-Direction and distance
-Colocar in boundary
-Place on vertices
-Create topology from linework
-Create topology from nodes
-Create topology from non-associated polygons
-Export linework
Dimensioning Land management
-Linear Adjustment
-Radial Mapping
-Rectangular Mapping
-Staking fom File
-Staking Input
-Auto-label from texts
-Dividing parcels from a defined area
-Division of parcels in equal areas
-Participation of plots
Interoperability Not included in Bentley Map
-Import of Land XML
-Export Land XML
For obvious reasons of what topological control would mean does not include in Coordinate Utilities:
-Fence warp
-Warp all (as fence)
-Warp setup
-Also in utilities the free warp

Bentley Power Map: It is a kind of economic version, as it would AutoCAD lite, curiously runs almost everything that makes Bentley Map, costs less than $ 1,500 and does not need a license of Microstation because it has included.  BentleyPowerMap_Highlights This is ideal for those who do not own Microstation licenses and will make an acquisition for the first time or in smaller quantities, it works in a similar way Power Civil.

Includes everything Bentley Map brings, up to Warpeos Crazy that Cadasatre does not bring, and like Bentley Map, does not bring anything of the wonders that offers Sign.

Its disadvantages with regard to Bentley Map are in the way of operating the licenses:

-You can not run other apps As I would if I was running with a normal Microstation license, I mean Engineering applications like Geopak, Inroads, Structural Design (Staad / RAM), Hydrosanitary Design, Architecture, Plants etc.

-They also mention that you can not run more than one third-party application, although I do not understand this limitation if it's about routines created on the Microstation API or some power downloaded from the third heaven, that where the apostle was.

-Then in 3D handling, although it does include capabilities of 3 Dimensions, it is assumed that animations can not be made.

Here you can see more of Power Map.

Conclusion:

  • For a municipality: ideal Powermap for reasons of price.
  • For a National Cadastre project, Bentley Register.
  • For a large project that will make GIS not merely parceling out, Bentley Map.
  • For Implement it: They call me XD

Starting with 2011, Bentley Map V8i Includes Bentley Sign and the Power Map scheme changes.
