Real-time NASA satellites

Eyes on The Earth is a NASA website, where you can see satellites orbiting the earth in real time.

The page is interesting, although the Unity Web Player plugin that must be activated the first time consumes a lot of resources. If the computer does not have enough memory, it will surely raise a blue memory dump screen as a reaction to excessive consumption.

After running (which is half-delayed) you can see the satellites that are cataloged by the type of priority for what they were put into orbit:

  • Earth: E01, Grace, Icesat, Landsat7 and Terra
  • Whole Ocean: OSTM and Jason1
  • Atmosphere: Aqua, Cloudsat, Acrimsat, Aura, Calypso, Quickscat, Sorce and Trmm

If I select the LandSat7, it is possible to zoom in and see what your view is like and progress in real time. You can also change the rotation speed and view other data regarding the objectives of each mission.

Here you can see the application Eyes on The Earth

Warning:

It is a view of the path of the satellite, showing whether it is day, night, are not real time shots.

Rays !, I read this in a spot of the spot that I can not remember ... so sorry for the backlink.
