CadastreLand survey

Testing the Sokkia SET520k

total station I am just unpacking a Sokkia Set520k total station, which we will be using in the cadastral survey of at least 20 municipalities next year. I also had to buy a data transfer cable, tripod, and two pole prisms.

It is quite recent, such that in the Comparative tables of total stations that I showed you does not appear, only reaches the 10k series.

The 620k that had lower resolution (26x), lower angular precision (6 ") and that the layout of the control panel was single sided, now has double 40k had a level of sensitivity (plate level) of XNUMX ", did not support flash memory card or brought option for wireless keyboard.

While models of better condition are the SET320k and 220k that differ from the one I have acquired, that the angular precision reaches 3 "and 2", additionally supports "fine motion screws" at double speed but do not ask me what effect that has because I have not tried it and it is in danger that I end up writing a barbastada.

Among some interesting features, protection for work in extreme conditions (humidity, dust, snow), and it is assumed that compared to the 10k models, the improvements in operability should increase the use up to 25%. These computers come with a customizable protection password that can only be disabled by the Sokkia representative (in theory). This Monday I hope to do the first tests, here are the general characteristics:

  • Resolution: 30x / 3 "
  • Minimum focusing distance: 1.0 mts.
  • Angular precision: 5 "/ 1.5mgon / 0.025 thousand
  • 1 prism range: up to 3,500 mts under optical conditions
  • Precision with prism: 2 + 2ppm in fine mode, 5 + 5 ppm in fast mode
  • Storage in memory: 10,000 points, additionally supports flash memory
  • Battery recharge time: 2.5 hours
  • Duration in continuous use: 10 hours (1,200 points), 13.5 hours under single angle use

image Or at least this says the brochure, there I tell you next week; if they saw me I'm like when my father took me to the fair and bought me a toy horse with a bored-faced Indian ... but That's another story That I would like to tell but it does not fit in this blog.
