Why ArcGIS closes every half hour

imageHehe, it's funny the answer that the ESRI technical staff gives to the question of why ArcGIS and ArcInfo are so frequently closed

When the Opera browser is installed on a system with ArcGIS, this program interferes with the ArcGIS operation and causes it to shut down systematically

The Opera browser is not compatible with ArcGIS.

The Opera browser must be removed from your system.

With support like this who needs manuals :). What happens is that few of us use Opera, and it does not matter what browser we use ... we have to get used to living with the constant drops of the program.

Well said a graffiti:

«Hallelujah, This morning my ArcGIS only crashed three times»

  1. Too bad that the link from the esri response is broken (at least 15 June 2009 today).

I think that although the answer is rare, it is not uncommon for this to happen as a program on Microsoft platform, not only ArcGIS can suffer from the house where it is installed and the neighbors with whom it lives.

Then there are other applications that even on Linux fail, but not because of Linux ... rather because of problems in its code.

At least in my case, I suffer sometimes with the psychological problems of the Java when I am thwarted an application that uses another version of java of some program I just installed ... for that there is remedy, of course, but sometimes if you are not expert in Java, technical support can be a good ally.

raise your hand (if you have one) the error-free program ....
... you don't program "hello world"
