The winners of the annual awards for Innovation in Infrastructure

Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the provider of comprehensive software solutions to promote design, construction and infrastructure operations, announced the winners of the awards Year in Infrastructure 2018. The annual awards program honors the extraordinary work of users who promote design, construction and infrastructure operations around the world.

Twelve panels of independent juries made up of leading industry experts selected the 57 finalists of 420 nominations submitted by more than 340 user organizations around the world. In a ceremony and gala at the end of the conference Year in Infrastructure 2018, Bentley recognized the 19 winners of the awards Year in Infrastructure and nine winners of the Special Recognition prizes.

The emphasis that this year has been given at the conference on the term Digital Twin, which after the synergy with Siemens has brought an interesting effort to move from capture, modeling and design, to operation has been well known; aspect that already existed in the previous concept of Bentley Systems with the inclusion of applications such as Asset Wise, but the new vision seeks to focus on the irreversible trend of BIM towards Smart Cities. Hence, several of the awards take the focus of advancement towards digital twins.

In approximate numbers, of the 33 projects from the far East, they have won 16 awards. 2 out of 3 Middle East has been awarded, 2 of the 6 from Australia, 4 of the 10 from Europa, and 4 of the 5 finalists of America.
